2. Your Week 2 Toolkit
This week you learned to:
- Identify noun genders (der, die, das)
- Form plurals (die Stühle, die Bücher, die Lampen)
- Use indefinite articles (ein, eine, ein) and negative articles (kein, keine, kein)
- Describe items with colors and adjectives (after ist/sind)
- Use the accusative case with haben, sehen, tragen, es gibt
- Talk about furniture and clothing
Today, you’ll put it all together in a creative project!
3. Main Task: “Meine Welt” – A Personal Showcase
Choose ONE of the following projects. Each project lets you demonstrate everything you learned this week in a personal, meaningful way.
Option A: “Mein Traumzimmer” (My Dream Room) Poster
Task: Create a digital or hand-drawn poster of your dream room.
Requirements:
- Include at least 10 items (furniture, decorations, objects)
- Label each item with its correct German name and article
- Example: “der Sessel” (adjectives are optional!)
- Add color or adjective descriptions using full sentences
- Example: “Der Sessel ist rot und bequem.”
- Include plural items (at least 3)
- Example: “drei Bücher” or “zwei Lampen”
- Write a short paragraph describing your room using:
- In meinem Traumzimmer gibt es…
- Auf der rechten/linken Seite ist/sind…
- Ich habe… / Ich sehe…
Presentation:
- Record a 1-2 minute video or audio presenting your dream room in German
Example Paragraph:
“In meinem Traumzimmer gibt es ein Bett. Das Bett ist groß und bequem. Auf der rechten Seite steht ein Schrank. Im Schrank sind viele Kleider und Hemden. Links habe ich einen Schreibtisch und den Computer. Dort stehen zwei Lampen. Die Lampen sind modern und schön. An der Wand hängen drei Bilder. Die Bilder sind bunt und interessant. Ich habe auch viele Bücher. Die Bücher sind spannend.”
Option B: “Was ich heute trage” (What I’m Wearing Today) Fashion Show
Task: Present your current outfit (or your favorite outfit) as a mini fashion show.
Requirements:
- Describe at least 6 clothing items you are wearing or showing
- Use indefinite articles (ein/eine) for singular items
- Example: “Ich trage eine Jacke.”
- Use no article for plural items
- Example: “Ich trage Schuhe.”
- Include colors and adjectives (after ist/sind)
- Example: “Die Jacke ist warm und rot.”
- Use the verb tragen (to wear) correctly with accusative
- Mention at least one item you DON’T have using kein/keine
- Example: “Ich habe keine Mütze heute.”
Presentation:
- Record a 1-2 minute video acting as a fashion presenter
- Show the items as you describe them (wear them or hold them up)
- End with a sentence about your favorite piece (mein Lieblingsstück ist…)
Example Script:
“Hallo! Hier sind meine Kleider. Ich trage einen Pullover. Der Pullover ist grau und warm. Ich trage auch eine Hose. Die Hose ist schwarz und sehr bequem. Meine Schuhe sind braun. Das sind meine Lieblingsschuhe. Ich habe auch eine Jacke, aber heute trage ich sie nicht. Mein Lieblingsstück ist der Pullover!”
